This is Me

Why Lifeboat 21?

Once I looked down from a boat deck and contemplated the mere inches of me and a moving sea. As I looked down, I saw a lifeboat. Certainly, I mused, if I fell from the railing I would fall into the lifeboat instead of being carried away on the waves. I am subdued by the metaphor..a lifeboat in my way. A power greater than myself prevents me from self destruction. A lifeboat. ready, willing and able to save me from myself.

Sometimes its all too much and words spill out of all the broken places. Sometimes the words spill out of places filled with contentment.

Either way there will be words.

Poetry is just the evidence of life. If your life is burning well, poetry is just the ash.

Residing in South West Florida where it is lovely and warm, I am a photographer and writer gone rogue! I find passion in painting with pastels, fiber art and other mediums.

I attempt to record a part of my journey in poetry and words on this blog. Check out my photography at

And by the way, everything in life is writeable if you have the outgoing guts to do it. The worst enemy to creativity is self-doubt.
